In the spirit of working together, I found this verse in a book (on the internet) called tears and victory (1871) And a trailing vine is a fairy bower, With jewels hung for the fay's delight It doesn't help us get any closer but it's interesting.

I'm very new to this everyone so please bare with me.... I have searched the site and haven't come across a post with this thought process regarding the verse In the middle of twenty-one from end to end could twenty-one actually be 20-1 equaling 19???? which is in the top left corner of the clock??

Captain Mike: It's not a bad thought, as far as possible techniques for encoding clues in the verses. I'd classify this as being in the same category of wordplay tricks as, for instance, "First of August" meaning the letter "A". These did turn up in the diversionary riddles in Masquerade, but I don't recall seeing much evidence of their use in The Secret, and I don't believe anything like this has been discovered in the two image/verse pairings where the treasure has actually been recovered. It would open up many new avenues if we were to read the verses in this light. This does make me think that it might be useful to put together a sort of index of riddle techniques, with notes on which ones have and have not been identified in the twelve verses. For example, we definitely have using the initial letter of a proper noun to stand for that noun (M and B are set in stone), but do don't yet have a proper noun being used to represent its initial letter only (e.g. Xenophon just meaning the letter X).

Timeline matches up with that: In 1981 nobody knew the solution to MAsquerade, but a lot of the diversionary stuff was being circulated
