Thread Summary

Users in the forum are discussing unauthorized digging in an area near the Charlesgate structure. BINGO expresses concern about a deepening hole between the two C's and advocates for responsible digging practices. Other users, like drunknerds, suggest creating a plan to map out known dig spots to prevent unnecessary digging. burnstyle points out the challenge of verifying digging claims. BINGO commits to sharing a plan of their own digging locations and past excavations by others. NYCNative humorously suggests confronting rogue diggers physically. The discussion also emphasizes the importance of honesty in reporting dig spots and avoiding mislabeling locations as "THE SOLVE." There is a funny moment when drunknerds mistakenly identifies an active police station as an abandoned building in their solve. gManTexas appreciates the survey map shared by BINGO, mentioning holes dug next to stairs at a small building south of the 2C structure and encouraging cleanliness and sharing information about explored locations. Overall, the conversation highlights the need for responsible digging practices, honesty in reporting, and maintaining cleanliness in the area.

BINGO

Walked over the bridge this afternoon that is adjacent to the famous 2C structure at Charlesgate. I noticed that the hole (which has been left open for a while) between the two C’s has been dug deeper in the last couple of weeks. If you are going to dig, that’s great. But please clean up after yourself. This is the reason why access will continue to get more difficult in the future. Maybe they will post this picture on the wiki solve to show that it isn’t where they claim it is. https://flic.kr/p/FUzyTU The mess is actually worse than the picture would make you think.

erexere

I agree. It's embarrassing. There are other spots to dig nearby.

BINGO

Here we go again. Will it help if I upload a plan that shows all of the spots that are known to have been dug already in his area? Since whoever is doing this doesn’t have time to fill in their holel, I will at least save them some time from digging in spots that have proved empty. https://flic.kr/p/24y73Js https://flic.kr/p/23xcbTu And another attempt at my all time favorite spot. Can Oregonian take down that solve already? https://flic.kr/p/EXSdEH

Can Oregonian take down that solve already? https://flic.kr/p/EXSdEH I'd definitely love a plan showing all the dig spots, for any city really. Were any of those holes even three feet deep? Feel like it's a recurring thing that rogue diggers don't dig far enough, utterly negating the point of their vandalism

The problems with it though, are that you cant be sure someone is being honest when they say they dug a spot. In my experience only 1 in 100 people who say they dig, have actually dug. We were thinking of something like the map here: hxxp://thereisnothingleft.com/

BINGO

I will put together a plan this weekend showing the areas that I personally dug. I also have located other spots that were dug in the past by others. I have nothing to hide nor do I have anything show from the holes that I have excavated. I am on board with whatever helps the overall good of this.

NYCNative

Make a plan and figure out where they are going to dig again, and punch them straight in their mug!

drunknerds

Guys have you seen my new solve? It's great, and it leads to an abandoned building! [posts solve. "abandoned building" is really an active police station]

BINGO

Here is a plan of the spots that I know have been dug at the Charlesgate “2C” area. After reading through the image 11 thread, it was revealed that there were other holes dug next to the stairs at the small building just South of the 2C structure. I did not know about those until recently and the people involved did a very good job of cleaning up after themselves. It would be great if others did the same... I hope this helps. https://flic.kr/p/23kz23r
