Thread Summary

Xetrovia initially speculated about a verse possibly referencing Whitestone, Ontario, but later acknowledged that Montreal, specifically Mount Royal, seemed to be the more likely location based on research and historical connections. They mentioned the Mount Royal Cross and a time capsule buried there. Another user, catherwood, directed Xetrovia to an existing forum topic on Verse 5. Hensonbony expressed a lack of knowledge on the topic. The discussion highlighted the process of researching and refining theories about the verse's location.

Okay so first off I am no genius or expert but just from a bit of reading the verse this is my opinion. So to start what of it was read backwards? To dig out Get permission From the west side At twelve paces White stone closest To the south Of a forest Beneath the only standing member Born of ancient dreams of flight A wingless bird ascends Citadel in the night Windswept halls Of granite walls Together saved the site Weight and roots extend You'll see an arc of light Two twenty two Lane Okay first off all people have suspected that this one is in Montreal which they are probably right but what if it was in Ontario? Whitestone Ontario. Ardbeg is part of the municipality of Whitestone. Where there stood a fire tower....the last of its kind. It was one of the last manned fire towers and stood from the 1930s-1971. All that remains of it now are the 4 corner foundation posts and concrete stairs. I realise now that it is no longer standing which really puts the whole thing off though it did kind of interest me about reading it backwards. Also possible the dreams of flight and wingless bird could be referring to how the tower was no longer needed because it was replaced with air surveillance...then there would be the "get permission from the west side" though I'm not sure who the west side could be. Again I am not expert and just started reading and looking into this. Just a few ideas I thought I'd throw in sorry if they are completely stupid.

Sorry for double posting but I realise what a mistake I made just jumping into this and assuming the first thing I found. I was incredibly excited and sincere I am in Canada this seemed like the most logical to follow. Every thing and everyone seems to point to Montreal Mount Royal. There is The first Mount Royal Cross that was placed there in 1643 by Paul Chomedey de Maisonneuve, the founder of the city. Today, the mountain is crowned by a 31.4 m (103 ft)-high illuminated cross, installed in 1924. Also to note in 1992 a time capsule was buried there so may be issues if this is potentially the location. The only connection I can make so far to the cross is the line: you'll see an arc of light. Though arc is probably not the best way to describe the cross. Anyway just wanted to appolygise for getting ahead of myself and jumping at the first thing I found with little research. I had to go back quite a bit in the forum to find anything on verse 5 and picture 9.
