Hi, everyone. With almost 2500 posts in this forum, it's a monumental task to catch up by reading all the posts. What is the best way to get up to speed on the current ideas/theories? I just ordered the book and should be getting it sometime next week. I appreciate your guidance.

Skoldpadda,
I'm far from the biggest expert here, but if I were you, I'd do the following:
1. Until you get the book, read the info on The Secret over on Mark's main page. There are 12 Verses and 12 Images, which pair up to describe 12 locations. The remainder of the book is (apparently) mostly irrelevant. Some of the text in the early part of the book seems to have clues, but we're just getting into that.
2. Read the thread called something like "What has been found?", especially the last (most recent) few pages. You will find a couple of tables summarizing known or expected relationships between V, I, locations, etc.
3. Study Egbert's Cleveland find.
4. Pick one of the more developed theories pairing a V and I and read the entire history on those threads.
5. As new stuff comes up and time allows, browse the other topics and begin picking up info.
Have a good time.

put your flippers on, hold your breath & dive in skoldpadda......and most of all.....
when you get your book and your ideas start flowing...please do not feel that your ideas are stupid or may have been mentioned in the past. We need all the help we can get with locating the remaining 10 casques in this 20 + year old hunt.
Welcome

Thanks for the kind replies, Pine_Tree and fox. I just received my copy in the mail today.
I'll probably read it this weekend and get some ideas and then catch up as suggested above. Can't wait to get involved

just remember skol....as far as most of us believe, the pages containing the silly stories of the fairfolk are not needed (or are they...?...no one really knows). most believe they are just fluff, although there were some interesting coincidences on some of the pages.
cant wait to hear ideas from a new mind...
