paperclip
When I read verse 1, after a few tries I thought of "Old Faithful" in Yellowstone Park, Wyonming, tying it in with Image 2 after checking out the Google map which, when looking at nearby Grand Loop Road, shows a perfect outline of the hanging mask in the 'map' version. There are also geysers named after lions, and a bunch of things called "fairy" nearby.
Please check out the google maps for youself.

that is an interesting idea but with all of the conclusive images in the picture. . I don't see how this can lead us anywhere but Charleston.
paperclip
This is as close as I could get to scanning things in decently. In the image (which can just be called up by putting "yellowstone" in google maps) the clock mask is outlined, along with the rectangular cut diamond linking to a mapped lake rectangular lake located a little off to the right and down

A little rehash for the sake of rehashing.
This IS the image on the head of the larger mask:
This is Charleston SC..
This IS the smaller mask:
This is Ft Sumter off the coast of Charleston.
Again I ask, How could it be anywhere else besides Charleston S.C.?
paperclip
Well, just in case it is not Charleston . . .
Besides a similar small tin mask outline, there is a side view of the African mask partially covered by the fairy's wings, which look like the highly colorful hot pools in the park. There is also a sponsered Fairy Falls Hike in the park. Going further North, there are two refences to "Daisy" -- as in Daisy Geyser and Baby Daisy Geyser. From Baby Daisy Geyser, to the north, if a hunter crossed the Grand Loop Road, (meaning you would have to cross over highways that incorparated the numbers 9 8 and 2 in their designations) you would encounter a pear shaped curve image made up of a smaller and larger streams of water. As for the Lion geysers, by Old Faithful, they need not fear the "Petrified Forest", because the wood pun means the forest is afraid of them. Three winged could refer to the Goose Lake, Goose Lakes (yes, there is an 'S' for the second one, and Feather lake, which, if you count the 4th unammed lake near the lower basin, that is cut of from the other three by the river. And, finally, there is Tower (of delight) Fall.

paperclip i think the conscientious is port cities, i dont know why BP chose port cities
maybe it was easier for him, or he had a grand plan we just dont understand
i think img 2 is Charleston, im still up in the air sometimes about the V though
fox
Yes, port cities goes along with the whole immigration theme of the fair folk.
wilhouse
in 1982, airports were more prevelent and larger in port cities, and easier to get to...
Look, I know I'm biased, but:
1) Preiss told me there's a treasure in Houston
2) Verse 1 talks about starting your task at 982, which is the number of the train outside the CZ
3) Preiss agreed that I should dig in the CZ to find the casque.
