An unstamped letter in a rural letterbox?
A young birch?

I actually have no theory for milwaukee.
I just was noting, that linquistically this, "a correspondence " is a valid interpretation
not multiple correspondence, a single correspondence, also known as a letter.

Looking on google earth

Once you descend from the lion bridge and travel southeast on the ravine trail there is that rock and dirt path that leads toward Lincoln memorial hwy. the actual trail path connects to the sidewalk at Lincoln but that rock path ends in a circular indentation. Looks like maybe a manhole or something round. The “millstone” is a mile down near the bridge by the grand staircase, is this maybe a second “millstone” at the end of the rock path? Has anyone been there?

Why not "a T & a T"... Ma Bell?

Any payphones around a huge mountain? Say... around McKinley somewhere?

Howdy Jay,

Yeah, they have been there. (Me too....)
There's not a second 'millstone'....and, the area has changed...a ton, just over the past decade and a half

(Read the past posts in the threads regarding Milwaukee from animal painter, forest blight, stercox, decibalnyc, etc, etc, etc....or, by all means, continue to look at current pics on Google Earth, ignoring all of the previous ground work.)

Yeah I know many have been there just asking what the end of that trail looks like, never saw any pictures from that actual site. Unfortunately a great many links and images, because the way this forum hosts, are now just “404” broken removed or no longer exists. Yeah ofcourse so many decades and as noted the birch trees have been cut down and landscape has changed. And yes I will continue to use google earth as I live in the southern tip of Florida and not likely to jump on a plane just to see if something is a manhole or other structure, but thanks for the tip that I can re read the thread for an umphteenth time.

you cant use the past three staying west clue to apply to the path, its a red herring, i did that...it leads you to the burial mound and gives you a clue about the final location.

Let's talk about the hints from the Japanese translation for a minute. The "clue" regarding:

As you walk the beating of the world

seems to be explained that beating is similar to a drum, look in the dictionary and find a name near the word drum. (paraphrasing here)

Could this line be pointing us to two things? Downer would be an interesting take on the beating, Beat down or depressing. Is it possibly used to locate us at Kenwood and Downer, setting the direction from Mitchell Hall to Lake Park?

Well, starting here, AP found something that she thinks reinforces the Kenwood theory, especially because of the 'drum' hint:

(Kenwood Dennard.....prodigy drummer....also see subsequent posts from AP in the thread.)

I saw that. Not a strong connection IMHO.

I agree.

About as strong as Kenwood Stereos, Kenwood Electric Mixers or Kenwood Drum Tables...which, still leads to the Grand Staircase (from the North), the same place that the podcast's solution leads (from the South).

i never finished mapping full southern path, i got up to appell joyce and kinda stopped working on it after that, but you would come up past the italian renaissance adler building owned by the family that sold cars and shit. and youd think the adler building would be the stairs but they only add up to 82 or 96 depending on which mini sets at top or bottom you include...that place is pretty rad. its how you know the kenwood electronics is a correct reading btw. mapped out complete north path perfect, including the red herring path to lincoln park.
