Hello friends,After a while, I'll return to the search. When I bought my copy of the secret, the seller told me that the original edition came with a two-page letter. Does anyone have that letter? What is its content?I've searched the forum and on the Internet, but I have not found any of that letter.

Could be an amazing new tip or could be an amazing troll

Hi, I was working at a bookstore when the book came outI opened the box, there were no letters..That being said this was a "trade paperback" meaning produced nicer than a normal paperback, (glossy covers, color pictures bigger, etc etc)So when a new or different (unusual) trade paper came out the publisher would have to convince the bookstores to buy them (obviously they were more expensive than other books)What you are describing sounds to me like the letter that would come with an advance copy that would be sent to the book purchasers, with chain stores it would go to the main office, but with smaller bookstores it would go to the owner of the store. For a book like The Secret, the letter would describe the book, the audience, and selling points. similar books (masquerade) and all the great reasons the seller would want to stock the book.Sadly it would not have come with clues, or solutions....

Dangit! I was hoping there was a limited edition "director's cut" with bonus material. Like a round holographic 12" map that revealed the secret when played backwards.

Brilliant! We come from the land of the ice and snow,From the midnight sun where the hot springs flow. How soft your fields so green. Can whisper tales of gore.Of how we calmed the tides of war. All your base are belong to us. We are your overlords. It's exquisitely perfect. "The Immigrant Song", it all makes sense now.

Think you are right maltedfalcon, Thank you.I bought my pre-owned copy from a little bookstore. Perhaps the owner saw this and I misunderstood him.

In Feb 2018 hit the $6.000...But it's still possible to find a 1982 edition $400 - $600 in good conditions.

Question for people that own the original book.Does the author give credit anywhere in the book for using quotations from printed work ?

you mean a bibliography ? noand you should differentiate between the verses and the rest of the book - different authors...but they do footnote on occasion i.e., (Katharine Briggs,An Encyclopedia of Fairies, Page 205.)

"Dear Bookseller or Reviewer:We don't really know what to make of this book, so we had an intern read it, do some basic research on the authors and artists by calling their publicists, and then make some notes to help us figure out how the heck to market this thing. From the intern's notes, we made this letter to help you promote the book. We don't expect you to understand it either, but Masquerade really raked in the profits, so we're hoping lightning strikes twice in the same place.Best of luck!Bantam Books"

@MaltedFalcon - or anyone, really. Do you mind sharing on what page you found a footnote mentioning Katharine Briggs, An Encyclopedia of Fairies? I've had a copy of this for a while and there are huge clues in it. But I didn't know he actually referenced it in the book. Anyone know what page it's on? Thanks!
