Sir Shadowrunner, Finder of The Chicago Casque
WOW! I'll tell you, this is pretty exciting for this board. Thanks for taking the time to revisit image5 and verse12. I'll guarantee everyone here knows that verse by heart!!! Your incite into this puzzle will make it all that much more fun. I'm sure you can have some very interesting conversations with our Sir Egg (Egbert), Finder of the Cleveland Casque! Boogieman

Cant wait to see the pix ShadowRunner....thanks! Feel free to chime in on any other ideas you may have. This board is a close knit family solely out to solve this elusive hunt. Everything is laid out there for all in the hopes that we can knock out another 1, 2, 3.....of these riddles.
Congrats on being an initial finder and thanks again for showing us the process of the Grant Park find.

I might be going to Chicago in search of a different treasure, so I might check out Grant Park, anyone want any pics?
Let me know ASAP! For I am leaving tomorrow.

The more pics the better, reg. We've already got the Chicago site pretty well documented, but you never know what additional information might be gained by more.

What treasure hunt takes you to Chicago? I am just curious. Don't worry. I won't try to go there.

My guess is the Dr.Pepper promotion, same thing that sent me to Golden Gate Park in San Francisco this weekend (unsuccessfully)

Yes, the Drpepper promotion (cough cough)
I'm back from searching, but someone got there first, I was in the right place though. However, I don't regret going. I had fun, didn't have time to visit Grant Park, but I did see the M and B statue! It was huge!

I will be in Chicago for a conference in May, and my hotel is within easy walking distance of Grant Park. I have arranged to have all afternoon of Wednesday, May 21 to wander around Grant Park with a camera. Anyone want to join me and pretend it's 1983?
Wow, 1983. This July will mark the 25th anniversary of the unearthing of the first casque, by the way. Whaddya say we mark the occasion by digging up another one?

Are there enough hours in the day to drive to Lake Park that day? Cause' Turtle will be at Washington Square and I'll be in Brooklyn before that, but i can wait.

So I just watched the season finale of "ER," and in the very last shot - the cliffhanger - an ambulance with an unknown main character in it explodes, like, 10 yards from the Spearman sculpture on the corner of Congress and Congress Plaza Drive, Grant Park, Chicago. It's strange to see such a familiar sculpture in such a different setting.

I'm in Chicago for a conference this week. Today I had a few hours to kill, so naturally I walked over to Grant Park for a small pilgrimage and took some more photographs, which I added to my Chicago album at webshots.com:
http://community.webshots.com/album/550883926nXwyPW?start=0
(end of p. 2 through p. 3)
The corner of the casque site is now under construction, so the site may not exist for long. It was behind an obscuring fence, so I dunno. At least, the "fixture" of V12 fame no longer exits - the entire bridge is being renovated (badly needed IMHO, since it was falling apart). I'm glad we were able to take pictures of the site before it was destroyed.
I located an arched post (as it appears in P5). The screen evidently exists to keep kids or animals from squeezing through the small opening and falling to their deaths on the road below. It is likely that one of the similar posts closer to the casque site had a similar arch over it in 1981/2. This is the only intact one I was able to find in the entire park.
Anyway, the completists and the sentimental among you may want to see my additional photos from today's jaunt.
