The Owl and the Horse

The Owl and the Horse (also known as Prelim #1) is the title given to a sketch by John Jude Palencar, released to the general public on December 17, 2025. It is described as a “Preliminary study for a future painting,” and as such is considered to be the first in a series of Preliminary Sketches by Palencar. It is a monotone drawing created with pencil and/or charcoal on cream paper stock, with a viewable art area of 9.5 inches wide and 7.5 inches high.
