The twelve paintings in the middle section of The Secret are not given titles in the text, but are generally referred to by the names of the cities with which they are popularly identified. The designations are not official, and in fact have changed over the years. The San Francisco painting, for instance, was often thought to represent New Orleans, until the artwork was seen to contain what appear to be longitude and latitude coordinates in the figure’s hair.
