Do you think so…? Clocking up 86 pages of theories on Image 9 without anyone having a clue where it is is pretty mental…
Think of it as 86 pages of where it isnt!

Could someone explain the significance of the 5 warts and May birthstone in the Chicago picture (image 5)?
I thought it just indicated what gem went with that image.

the boards are just too ungainly for anybody new to pick up the whole thing and Im sure that actually scares some people away.

I like the idea of having a simple, accessible front-end to the puzzle and trying to reel in some more treasure seekers. A while back I set up a Facebook page for it at:
http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Secre … 090?v=info
…but haven’t done much with it. If anyone wants to be an admin just drop me a note.
(I also started working on
www.secrettreasure.co.uk
but that’s kind of stalled for now. I was planning to link each location to an introductory PDF like
this
, post it up on local forums, and try and find people to check out some very specific locations in Houston, New York, Florida and New Orleans among others. We need helpful local contacts to progress this puzzle, but they’re hard to find. The Wiki is editable, though I didn’t find it very user-friendly.)

I would like to propose that we re-do the Secret Wiki, compiling our DATA–not our theories–on what we know for certain with the images and verses. I don’t know that the Wiki can actually be edited anymore, but I know that the actual raw data on the images is there, or most of it is; we might revise or edit what is there.
This can also be done in a new thread here. It might even be more convenient to do so. This would mean going back through some of these threads and pulling out photos, or ideas, or confirmers that we’ve actually found–and listing the longitude and latitude numbers, the gem and time associations and the country/name of fey that go with each image. If we do it, then maybe we won’t get so very off-base with ideas or geography and maybe we will be able to focus on detail-confirmation a bit better.
This is only an idea. Not a pet project. Let me know if you don’t think it’s a decent idea and why. I think it is always helpful to go back to basics when you get lost–retrace steps–re-propose connections. And there IS data in the images and verses, and there IS stuff that can be listed to focus us. Such as: maps or outlines of areas and states that we know are right–(or we are reasonably certain are right), landmarks such as Milwaukee city hall, Italian connections of Image 12 and the peridot, the SELOY anagram..etc. etc.
What do you all think?

As soon as I verified my theory with a dig.
I actually went so far as to re-register at the secret wiki to get edit access last week.
But I think it is brilliant and definitely needs to be done.

That’s my opinion also. One of the reasons we get so far off base is because it’s just too hard to distill ideas from sifting through post after post.
However, we could each take one verse and one image and go through the posts ONLY on those two ideas and just pull off all the theories/ideas/data that have been proposed and put them together. Maybe I’ll try that with just one of those items and see what I can do.
