Merlot,
Is your avatar a “Brewer” by any chance?

I think he would technically be a Met. (Image is generic National League All-Star from Nintendo’s RBI Baseball)

I teach Science and Social Studies at a school within walking distance of Lake Park. I have students that are interested in researching this project and presenting a comprehensive plan to the park district for the search and potential removal of the treasure.
I know the park district has been cool to the idea in the past, but they would love nothing more than to get this thing out of the ground so people stop searching.
I think a comprehensive plan from a group of students might land a little softer with authorities than it might from private citizen type folks. Perhaps the expertise of this board combined with the expertise and the potential of my students could yield this treasure once and for all?

Your students might benefit from the creation of a timeline for the park. Maps of renovations could be reconstructed to show how changes to the park over time have erased or moved clues. It’s a massive research project, but perhaps being local will help you gain access to historical archives.

What’s happening with the foot bridge in Lake Park. I saw that it was going to be repaired/replaced/removed and didn’t see which decision was made. If it’s key to the puzzle, as some surmise, then not having it look as it did in 1981ish could be problematic.

That’s a great idea. It hits pretty much every sweet spot of yearly objectives and standards. I’ve stumbled ass backwards into a terrific project that will yield a ton of benefits even if they never come close. Thanks!
