“Zombie w/ Earring and Flies”, Zombie movies are some of my favorite cinematic experiences. There is always a sense of nervous laughter and humor involved. But one has to think of….”what if”?
A friend of mine has even written a computer program to assess how zombie-proof your home is.
With that in mind, this drawing was inspired by the following movies: “The Serpent and the Rainbow”, “Night of the Living Dead”, “The Walking Dead, “Dawn of the Dead” (both versions), “I am Legend”, “Twenty Eight Days, Weeks, Months, Years Later”, “The Last of Us” and yes, even “The Omega Man” w/ Charlton Heston.
Drawn on ripped inkjet paper (zombie damage?) glued & bonded to a substrate of Strathmore drawing paper with gloss & heavy gel polymer medium… I like to think of it as zombie saliva (see jpeg showing this coating below). It disappears when viewing the drawing from straight on. Pencil and graphite shading over an ink drawing. This will need ot be re-framed and matted under UV glass or UV plexiglass.
Matted with a single beveled mat. Some slight warping will be corrected once it is framed and re-matted. This mat should be viewed as a temporary solution .
